Yeah. I like RWD. But sometimes FWD is just fine....

No it isn't. I HATE, HATE, HATE the feeling you get through the steering wheel when accelerating out of a corner. I also hate the lack of grip while pulling away, and the fact that you can't jump out of side streets without cringing for your cv joints.

Ok but to be fair cv joints are on awd cars too. That's right. You may have won the war but I won that particular battle and nothing you can say or do will ever take that away from me! (Save me being flat out wrong about cv joints, a part of the car that I only vaguely know about. Because my car is rwd. Because I refused to buy anything that isn't rwd. Damnit. There goes that war again...)

Yup, AWD and 4WD cars have cv joints as well. With them, you'll often have at least a portion of the force going to the rear wheels, relieving some of the strain on the cv joints. The bad traction argument doesn't apply either. Still, my car is RWD and I plan to keep it that way.

FWD makes for good small cars and good highway bruisers. I have a 350Z now... I would love to supplement it with a (turbo) Maxima for commuting and road trip duties.

FWD works excellent on underpowered cars. My 201 hp old Taurus and 205 hp LeSabre would go anywhere in snow because they were heavy, skinny tired, FWD cars. My Acura TL type S which was 260 hp, was awful in rain or snow. I have so much more fun now with a RWD based AWD than I ever did with FWD though.
